Spring Break 2014

Mar 28, 2014

Spring Break was two weeks ago for me and boy was I ready for it.
When you are taking General Chemistry II and Concepts of Physics II at the same time, your life is stressful and you need breaks.
So to get some R & R I went on a 4 day trip to Nashville, TN, aka Music City!
It was a wonderful trip and I am so glad I got to spend it with these wonderful ladies! The beautiful lady in the hat is my sister-in-law Molley, her mom Gale, my mom Rosa (the redhead), and me!

It was a long 9 hour car ride but we made to the hotel safely! I had done a lot of preparation for this trip. I am definitely a type A personality and I really like organizing and planning things. So when they gave me free reign to plan what we did, I was ecstatic! I planned out our days loosely so they could be changed if we decided to do something else. I tried to make sure I planned where we were going to eat so we could try local cuisine instead of chain restaurants that we have in our area.
I don't want to make this too long of a post so I will just show you what we did!

The first night we ate at a place called Demo's downtown and they had the best blackened chicken pasta. The next morning we did mani-pedis, and ate lunch at this awesome place called Phat Bites (featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives). I mean look at all that bacon on that BLT!

Our next stop was The Hermitage, the home of President Andrew Jackson. The house was absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend taking the wagon tour.

I am so glad we got to go to the Grand Ole Opry, it is a Nashville legend! We were very privileged to see Craig Campbell and many others sing! Sorry for the poor quality of this picture.

We went to the Pancake Pantry for breakfast and headed out to Belle Meade Plantation on Sunday. This was probably one of my favorite things we did! I learned so much about their lifestyle and the mansion is breathtaking!

We did some other awesome things like shopping in the Opry Mills Outlet mall, eating at a farm to table restaurant and an aquarium, swimming at the hotel, and much more! I loved our trip to Nashville and I hope we can go on other trips together very soon!

Hugs,
