Date night at the Kauffman

Apr 8, 2014
Happy Tuesday y'all!
Last Friday I had a chance to support my university and attend a concert at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Kansas City. For all of you who don't live around here, the Kauffman is gorgeous and usually pretty expensive.
I was super excited because we (Nathan and I) got to have date night!

Aren't we just adorable, matching and everything?! ;)
We decided to go to Olive Garden for dinner and we split the 5 Cheese Ziti al Forno, which was amazing! So much cheesy goodness! Nathan has a thing for melted cheese so he really enjoyed it.

After our dinner we had some time to kill so we went and saw Nathan's sister, Whitnee, who is currently in the hospital.  We were running a tad behind so we couldn't stay long but it was nice being able to see her. The show started at 7:30 and we made it at about 7:45 and it was perfectly fine, we only missed a small portion.

We saw Park University's International Center for Music's head piano instructor Stanislav Ioudenitch perform and he is absolutely amazing. The concert was a tribute to Van Cliburn who Ioudenitch was friends with. He has also won the gold medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Contest. After intermission two other instructors from Park came out with Ioudenitch and they did a trio, which was beautiful. Daniel Veis on cello, Ben Sayevich on violin and Stanislav on the piano. This was definitely my favorite part of the night and I know it was Nathan's too. The music was absolutely amazing and I hope to return real soon!

This is Rachal, my college roommate. She is pretty awesome.

Hope everyone's week is going well. I am having some major allergy issues!
