Good morning lovelies!

Usually Mondays are NOT fun as that means going back to school and work, but this is a holiday so it's not that bad! Thank you Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!

But no, seriously, thank you. Thank you for standing up for what is right. Thank you for fighting for equality for all people, regardless of color. Thank you for teaching us that everyone deserves to be treated with respect. Thank you for promoting non-violent efforts in protests, when violence would have been the easier option. Thank you for sharing your dreams.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. fought every single day for what he knew was right, in a time where equality was a thing that no one had heard of. He had a dream that his own state of Mississippi would be "transformed into a oasis of freedom and justice." He had a dream that his kids would not be judged by their skin but by their character. He repeats that he "has a dream TODAY!" Not wishing for these things to change in the future but for the change to happen then, in the present.

This is a constant reminder that we need to live in the present. We cannot change the past, but we can change the present and the future. If we only think about the future, the present will get lost. I have trouble with this sometimes. I love planning and I like to plan my future, but sometimes that gets in the way of my present.

I have a few dreams myself, small in comparison, but remember "Comparison is the thief of joy!" I have a dream to be a wife and a mom. I have a dream to be a doctor and a good one at that. I have a dream to raise my family to love God and each other. I have a dream to be the best I can be.

What are some of your dreams? I would love to hear them!
