10 Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Feb 9, 2015

Last week I posted what to get your man for Valentine's day and today's post is all about Valentine's Day date ideas! We could always use some date ideas right?!

ONE | Dinner Theater

Take dinner and a movie to another level by going to a dinner theater! You don't have to cook or do anything! All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

TWO | Stay In

On the other hand, if you like to cook this one is for you! How about trying a new gourmet meal or cooking your special someone's favorite meal? I recommend these S'mores cookies for dessert! The other option to this is ordering take-out, watching movies, and playing board games! Either way you are going to have a blast staying in and spending quality time with your significant other!

THREE | Coffeehouse/Bookstore

Pick your favorite coffee shop or bookstore, etc. and spend the day talking about your favorite books. Some coffee shops have special events like open mic, poetry readings, or local bands that play! This is a great way to support your local talent and have a great time!

FOUR | Stargazing

If you have a planetarium around your city try going there and stargaze for a couple hours! There is something so romantic about looking at the stars together and picking out constellations! Plus, it's inside so you don't freeze!

FIVE | Painting Class

Those social painting classes are all the rage right now where I am! Try finding an art studio in your area that holds one and jump right in! They are so easy to do, anyone can do it! Seriously I can't draw to save my life and mine looks pretty well if I do say so myself.

SIX | Pottery Painting

One thing Nathan, my boyfriend, and I love to do is pottery paint! There is a ceramics studio about 30 minutes away from my house and you buy the pieces of pottery you want to paint. They charge a studio fee but that is for paint, brushes, stamps, etc. It is so much fun and you can paint things to give to each other as a present!

SEVEN | Museum

Here in Kansas City we have a lot of unique museums from the National WWI Museum to the Nelson-Atkins Art Museums there is something for everyone to enjoy! Find a museum in your area and take the day to explore it from top to bottom. You'll never know what you might find!

EIGHT | Concert

There are many different types of concerts you could go to! This is a more pricey option but it would be so worth it! You could pick your favorite band or you could go to a symphony performance! Surrounded by music is a great way to spend an evening.

NINE | Ice Skating

Find a rink, bundle up, and take a few laps together! Afterwards sip some hot chocolate and have some cookies!

TEN | Arcade

Find your inner kid and go to an arcade or some place like Dave & Buster's and let loose! A night of games could be just what you need!

Hope you found some inspiration for this upcoming Valentine's day!
