Happy Wednesday Y'all!

I am finally setting up my Bloglovin' account so

About a month ago I found a lump in my right breast. My mom called the doctor the next morning (which was Friday) and got me in on a Monday to get it checked out. I really didn't allow myself to worry a bunch because I knew there was nothing I could do about it over the weekend. Monday came along and I went to the doctor's and they sent me to an imaging center to have an ultrasound done.

We drove on over there and had the ultrasound and the radiologist said that he was 99% sure it was a benign non-cancerous tumor called a fibroadenoma. They said I had a couple options, the first was just leaving it there, and the second was getting a biopsy done. I could do a needle core biopsy or a surgical removal biopsy. After weighing the options, I decided to go with the surgical removal biopsy. The tumor was the size of a large grape but it swells throughout the day and will push and stretch the other tissue around which made me extremely sore at times. They also said that it could permanently get bigger and I was not a fan of that!

We scheduled the surgery for the 9th which was my first day of spring break. This way I could have a full week of recovering before I started up with schooling again. The surgery ended up going extremely well and I was able to go home around 4 pm on Monday. I am so blessed with all of the people who came to support me and my parents. My music director and Pastor at my church, Randy, came along with my mom's best friend & my second mama, Grace, my sister-in-law, Molley, my best friend, Sage, my other close friend, Whitney, and my lovely boyfriend, Nathan. They all came over after and spent time with me! I felt so loved!

Later that night my close friend Karissa came over and brought her newborn, Lillian Renee, who is 3 weeks old yesterday! Karissa, Molley, and Whitney left to go to a Women's Ministry meeting and Karissa left Lilly with us! It was such a blessing to get to cuddle that sweet babe for a couple hours. She was such a doll and slept the entire time!

Love these cuddles with baby Lilly!

I am loving all of the time I am getting to spend with friends this break. It is such a blessing in my life to have such close friends who love me as much as I love them!!

What have you been up to this week?

  1. Oh, Jenna! How scary! I'm glad everything is ok, though, and that you were shown so much love by your friends and family. I'm thinking of you and hoping that you're feeling better quickly. Those snuggles with that cutie baby helped, I'm sure:) I added you on Bloglovin', and I'm excited to be following along! Hang in there and feel better soon!

  2. Oh wow! Found your blog on bloggish - and I'm so happy I did. I'm one of those who... well, I skirt around breast exams and all that, mostly in fear! Will be praying for you - and that baby - SO cute.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment. It means so much to me and I truly am thankful for each and every one!
