Thankfulness | 2015 Edition

Nov 2, 2015
During the month of November many people try to focus on the things they have been blessed with and are thankful for. I usually try to be thankful all throughout the year, but I have had some hard times recently and I am going to focus on being thankful through the hard times.

So to remind myself how blessed I really am, I wanted to share what I am thankful for.

I am thankful for:

The ability to go to school. Being a senior in college is not easy, I have exams all the time along with papers, lab reports, and general assignments. There are days where I seriously want to give up and not look back. At that point I think to myself "Seriously Jenna, you think this is hard, wait until medical school." That puts it back into perspective and I buckle down and get things done. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to be in college and to earn a degree for free basically (I have a full tuition scholarship) because I know most people don't have that opportunity.

A boyfriend who is honest with me. Nathan and I have had some hard times recently and one thing I am thankful for is that he is honest with me. Sometimes I really hate it but I know it is for the best. He doesn't like to hide things from me and his isn't afraid to tell me when I am doing something wrong or being uhhh extra witchy. He has a genuine heart which I wouldn't give up for anything.

My parents. My parents have really shown me what true love looks like. Their parents have too, they all have set wonderful examples of what relationships should be. I am thankful that I have had that influence in my life. I know that my brother and SIL are just as thankful for them too.

New and old friends. I went on a study abroad trip over fall break and I made some great new friends on that trip. One of them was a old-new friend and I am so glad we reconnected and became closer. I am always thankful for my "old" friends too. They keep me laughing and in good spirits!

Starbucks. Yeah, yeah, I know, what a (insert adjective here) thing to be thankful for. But I am owning it and saying yes, I AM thankful for Starbucks. Sometimes I just need a pick me up and Starbucks is there for that. They just get me.

I know that there is so much more that I am thankful for but, that would be a never ending list. I can't believe that it is already November though, can you? I feel like this semester is flying by! What are some of the things you are thankful for as we come into the time of thankfulness and giving?
